The Chair called the meeting to order.
Justice Sandstrom/Judge Nelson moved/second that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved after changing “calll” to “call” on page 1.
The motion passed.
Active Directory Discussion
Kurt led the group through Attachment 2, which presents options and a recommendation related to an inevitable migration from Windows NT domains to Microsoft Active Directory authentication.
After significant discussion, by consensus, the group agreed to support the staff recommendation to implement an active directory within he Judicial Branch and forward the issue to the Supreme Court for its approval.
Kurt will forward the issue to the Supreme Court.
Legislative IT Update / Budget approved
Kurt informed the committee that the court’s budget, including the IT budget, was passed by the Legislative Branch. Some cuts were made to the IT budget.

Project update – Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS)
Kurt provided a brief update regarding CJIS. Over the past few years, the focus of CJIS has been on Law Enforcement systems and State’s Attorney systems. Now, the focus is beginning to turn towards the Courts and what data we may have to share.
Kurt and staff will be working with CJIS staff over the coming months.

Project update - Enhanced Records Management System (ERMS)
Kurt provided an update regarding the status of the ERMS. We have decided to proceed, using ITD as the infrastructure provider and Enterprise Solutions, Inc as the integration contractor.
Work is ongoing, with the pilot install of 2 counties to be completed in early 2006.

End-of Biennium purchases
Kurt informed the committee that there were many purchases being done throughout the last 6 months of the biennium. All the purchased equipment will be received by 6/30/05 and delivered to the appropriate district courthouse as soon as possible.

Interactive Television Update
Kurt informed the committee that 5 interactive video systems were purchased and are being installed. They are to be installed in Dickinson, Minot, Grand Forks, Fargo and Devils Lake.

Digital Audio Recording update
Kurt informed the committee that digital recording systems were purchased for and are being installed in Grafton, Devils Lake, Jamestown, Valley City and Wahpeton.
