The Executive Committee of the Judicial Conference met on November 24, 2009. Chair Geiger
called the meeting to order at 8:15 a.m.
Judge McCullough made a motion to approve the minutes of the last meeting. Justice Crothers
seconded the motion. The motion carried and the minutes of the April 7, 2009 meeting were
approved.
Justice Kapsner made a motion that the June Judicial Conference be held in conjunction with the
State Bar Association Annual Meeting on June 17, 2010, at the Ramkota Hotel, in Bismarck.
Judge McCullough seconded the motion. The motion carried. The time and the details of the
educational program will be decided at a later date.
Staff notified the Executive Committee that Judge Wefald's term as the chair of the Standing
Committee on Legislation will expire on June, 30, 2010, and advised the committee that the
position is an appointment by the North Dakota Judges Association. Judge Geiger offered to
contact Judge Kleven, the President of the North Dakota Judges Association, to advise her of the
need to find a replacement. No committee action is required on this item.
It was decided that the next meeting of the Executive Committee will be near the beginning of
April. It will be over the noon hour, with a preference that it not be scheduled for a Monday or
Thursday.
Justice Kapsner made a motion to adjourn the meeting. The motion carried and the meeting was
adjourned at 8:18 a.m.
