Proposed Rules and Amendments Regarding Lawyer Assistance and Diversion
The Joint Committee on Attorney Standards filed proposed amendments to N.D.R. Prof. Conduct 8.3, N.D. Admission to Practice Rule 8, N.D.R. Lawyer Discipl. 1.0, 2.4, 3.1, 3.4, 4.3, 6.1, 6.7
and 6.8, and N.D. Stds. Imposing Lawyer Sanctions 2.7, along with new proposed Rule 6.6, N.D.R. Lawyer Discipl., and a new proposed Administrative Rule relating to a Lawyer Assistance Program.
A copy of the amendments and new proposed rules is attached.
ORDERED, that a hearing be held on the proposed amendments and new rules, on Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at 1:30 p.m., in the Ralph J. Erickstad Courtroom of the Supreme Court, at the State Capitol in Bismarck, North Dakota. Time for personal appearances will be limited. Any person wishing to appear must notify Penny Miller, Clerk of the Supreme Court, at least three days prior to the scheduled hearing. Any person wishing to comment on the proposed amendments may do so in writing prior to the hearing.
