Proposed Amendments to North Dakota Code of Judicial Conduct Canon 5B(2)
On July 29, 2004, the Judiciary Standards Committee filed a petition with proposed amendments to N.D. Code Jud. Conduct Canon 5B(2) relating to Candidates Seeking Appointment to Judicial or Other Governmental Office contacting lawyers and others for expressions of support. A copy of the proposed amendments is attached.
ORDERED, any person wishing to comment on the proposed amendments may do so in writing before Friday, September 3, 2004. Written comments may be e-mailed to Penny Miller, Clerk of the Supreme Court, at supclerkofcourt@ndcourts.gov, or addressed to 600 E. Boulevard Ave., Dept. 180, Bismarck, ND 58505-0530.
The Supreme Court of the State of North Dakota convened August 3, 2004, with the Honorable Gerald W. VandeWalle, Chief Justice, the Honorable William A. Neumann, the Honorable Dale V. Sandstrom, the Honorable Mary Muehlen Maring, and the Honorable Carol Ronning Kapsner, Justices, directing the Clerk of the Supreme Court to enter the above order.
