In the Matter of the Judicial Vacancy in District Judgeship No. 7,
with Chambers in Stanley, North Dakota, Northwest Judicial District
On October 17, 2005, Judge Robert W. Holte, District Judge for the Northwest Judicial District, notified this Court that he does not intend to seek reelection for his position, thus creating a vacancy under Section 27-05-02.1, N.D.C.C. Section 27-05-02.1, N.D.C.C., requires the Supreme Court to determine whether the vacancy should be filled. Previously on September 9, 2005, the Supreme Court received a Petition to transfer the resident chambers in Judgeship No. 7 from Stanley to Minot. See In the Matter of the Petition to Change Resident Chambers from Stanley to Minot, Supreme Court No. 20050304. The Supreme Court considered the matter, and
ORDERED, this matter is consolidated with Supreme Court No. 20050304.
FURTHER ORDERED, the Supreme Court will undertake a written consultation with the
attorneys and judges of the Northwest Judicial District under Administrative Rule 7.2. Any person wishing to comment on the vacancy may do so in writing no later than Monday, November 28, 2005.
