On March 9, 2009, the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee filed a request for a proposed Code of Mediation Ethics and Code of Ethics Enforcement Procedure to provide standards of ethical conduct to guide mediators who provide mediation services, to inform and protect consumers of mediation services, and to ensure the integrity of the mediation process. A copy of the proposal is attached. The Court considered the matter, and
ORDERED, any person wishing to comment on the proposed rules may do so in writing before April 27, 2009. Written comments may be e-mailed to Penny Miller, Clerk of the Supreme Court, at supclerkofcourt@ndcourts.gov, or addressed to 600 E. Boulevard Ave., Dept. 180, Bismarck, ND 58505-0530.
The Supreme Court of the State of North Dakota convened March 11, 2009, with the Honorable Gerald W. VandeWalle, Chief Justice, and the Honorable Mary Muehlen Maring, the Honorable Carol Ronning Kapsner, the Honorable Daniel J. Crothers, Justices, directing the Clerk of the Supreme Court to enter the above order. The Honorable Dale V. Sandstrom, being unavoidably absent, did not participate.
