Amendments to North Dakota Supreme Court
Administrative Order 17 and the Protocol
Regarding the Family Mediation Pilot Project
Cathy Ferderer, Family Law Mediation Program Administrator, forwarded a Memo dated May 28, 2009 to Chief Justice VandeWalle recommending amendments to N.D. Sup. Ct. Admin. Order 17 to expand the Family Mediation Pilot Program to the Northwest, Southwest and Northeast Judicial District, and conform certain language to Senate Bill 2042 which was passed by the 61st Legislative Assembly and signed by the Governor. Amendments to the program's Protocol were also recommended. On June 3, 2009, the Supreme Court reviewed the recommendation and agreed with the Ferderer's amendments, but request further amendments, to N.D. Sup. Ct. Admin. Order 17. The Court also requested additional amendments and formatting changes to the Protocol. A draft of the amendments to N.D. Sup. Ct. Admin. Order 17 and the Protocol were distributed to the Court on June 11, 2009. The Court considered the matter, and
ORDERED, the proposed amendments to N.D. Sup. Ct. Admin. Order 17 and the Family Mediation Pilot Project Protocol are approved effective August 1, 2009.
The Supreme Court of the State of North Dakota convened July 10, 2009, with the Honorable Gerald W. VandeWalle, Chief Justice, and the Honorable Dale V. Sandstrom, the Honorable Mary Muehlen Maring, the Honorable Carol Ronning Kapsner, the Honorable Daniel J. Crothers, Justices, directing the Clerk of the Supreme Court to enter the above order.
