Kristi Pettit Venhuizen
The State Bar Association of North Dakota installed new officers at its general assembly June 14, 2012.
Judge Gail Hagerty of Bismarck is now SBAND president. She replaces Kristi Pettit Venhuizen of Grand Forks.
Hagerty is a 1978 University of North Dakota School of Law graduate. She has been district judge for the South Central Judicial District since 1995 and currently serves as presiding judge. Previously, she served as Burleigh County Judge and Burleigh County State's Attorney. Venhuizen, a 1998 Washburn University Law School graduate is in private practice and serves as Grand Forks city prosecutor.
Nancy Morris of Fargo will serve as president-elect. She is an attorney in private practice.
Fargo attorney Aubrey Fiebelkorn-Zuger was appointed secretary-treasurer.
SBAND recognized Clara Jenkins of the North Dakota Secretary of State's Office in Bismarck with the Liberty Bell Award for improving public understanding about the law.
State Senator Ralph Kilzer of Bismarck was honored with the Legislative Service Award
Attorney David Maring of Bismarck received SBAND's highest honor for attorneys, the Distinguished Service Award.
