In November, members of SBAND's Women Lawyers Section attended a new program focused on the judiciary - Judicial Service: A Guide to Judicial Application, Selection, and Appointment.
More than 80 people registered for the seminar and numerous students from the University of North Dakota School of Law traveled to Bismarck for the event.
The program was co-sponsored by SBAND's Women Lawyers Section and The Infinity Project, whose mission is "to increase the gender diversity of the state and federal bench" in the Eighth Circuit.
Presenters included former and current federal, state, and tribal judges; members of the North Dakota Judicial Nominating Committee; and representatives from both Senator Hoeven's and Governor Burgum's Offices.
SBAND's Women Lawyers Section President Lori Conroy, an Assistant Clay County Attorney, served as moderator for the event.
UND School of Law Assistant Professor Denitsa R. Mavrova Heinrich said it was an afternoon filled with valuable information on serving the judiciary at the state, federal, and tribal level.
