RE: Rule 3, N.D.R.Civ.P., Commencement of Action
Staff has prepared an amendment to the title of Rule 3 consistent with the federal form and style amendment. The amendments are intended make the rule more easily understood and to make style and terminology consistent throughout the rules. Staff has also prepared amendments to the explanatory note consistent with the Committee's discussions on the Commencement of Actions Report. These amendments are aimed at modernizing the rule and removing references to obsolete authority and practices.
