RE: Last Minute Settlements and Plea Changes
Judge Vukelic has written the Committee with concerns about last minute settlements and plea changes. Should trial courts be given the authority to assess expenses unnecessarily incurred against the responsible party or their counsel, when without justification the court is not informed until the last minute of a settlement or decision to change a plea?
