RE: Rule 8.5, N.D.R.Ct., Domestic Relations Summary Proceeding
District Judge Gail Hagerty sent a letter to the Chair proposing an amendment to Rule 8.5(a)(2). The proposed amendment, on line 8, increases the combined net assets of the parties from $20,000 to $50,000. Judge Hagerty believes more people would be able to use the domestic relations summary proceeding if the asset limit was increased to $50,000.
Judge Hagerty's letter is attached along with the proposed amendment to Rule 8.5. The proposed amendment is highlighted.
