A Petition for Adoption, Amendment, or Repeal of Procedural Rules and Rules of Court was filed August 13, 1996, by the Joint Procedure Committee. The Joint Procedure Committee recommended adoption of amendments to Rules 6, 11, 14, 31, 33, 34, 36, 37, 45, 50, 52, 54, 56, 59, 80, and explanatory notes, North Dakota Rules of Civil Procedure; Rule 16, Form 7, and explanatory notes, North Dakota Rules of Criminal Procedure; Rule 705 and explanatory note, North Dakota Rules of Evidence; Rule 4, 31, 34, and explanatory notes, North Dakota Rules of Appellate Procedure; and Rules 1.1, 3.2, and explanatory notes, North Dakota Rules of Court. ORDERED, that the amended rules as proposed by the Joint Procedure Committee, and as further amended by the Supreme Court, be adopted effective March 1, 1997.
