Judge Schmalenberger called the meeting to order.
Caseflow Workshop Points
Chair Schmalenberger asked the members for comments on the recent Caseflow Management
Workshop. Some members suggested that the next training should include more members from
SBAND. One member suggested that participation be limited to just in-state judges and
Participants were encouraged to continue the discussions that were started at the workshop and
apply them to their specific Unit caseflow plans.
It was suggested that it would be helpful to SBAND and the public in general, if all of the
administrative units caseflow plans be accessible on the Supreme Court’s website. Judge
McClintock offered to contact the court with this request.
Updates to NECJD and NEJD Caseflow Plans
Chair Schmalenberger called on administrative personnel from Unit 1 to present information
about the Caseflow Plans for the Northeast Central judicial district and the Northeast judicial
Ms. Nelsen reviewed the Table of Contents for their plan and pointed out policies where the local
Caseflow Management Committee is considering updates.
A member of the statewide Caseflow Management committee suggested that when local
caseflow committees are reviewing their plans, that they should involve members of the
statewide committee in the discussions.
Future Meeting Dates
The next meeting of the statewide Caseflow Management Committee will be held October 2013
in Fargo, ND.
