The Chair called the meeting to order.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as distributed.
UCIS Expansion
Kurt updated the committee regarding UCIS expansion: The 10 counties to be added by December 31, 2002 have been added. Ted Gladden praised the IT staff for achieving that goalearly.
Justice Sandstrom moved to complete the statewide conversion to UCIS by implementingUCISin all 53 counties by December 31, 2003.
Ted Gladden seconded the motion.
THE MOTION PASSED. Kurt will begin implementing UCIS in the remaining 13 counties,tobe completed by the end of calendar year 2003.
Budget
Kurt provided an overview of the IT budget for the 2003-2005 biennium, asking for approvalfrom the committee. Kurt mentioned that there may be small changes to correct errors and addmissed items. There may also be large changes, based on the Supreme Court'saction.
Ted Gladden moved to approve the budget with the pending corrections, so long as theoverallbudget remains less than 100% of the current budget.
Judge Leclerc seconded the motion.
THE MOTION PASSED.Kurt will implement corrections.
Ongoing Initiatives
Kurt provided an update regarding PCSS & UCIS integration.The project is currentlyon trackand within the established budget.There will be a series of installs between late August andmid-November with final conversion occurring November 12th.
Kurt told the committee the protection order project has experienced delays due tocontractor-staff availability, but otherwise is proceeding.
Kurt informed the committee that Nathaniel Elliott, one of the programming staff iscurrentlyworking on the child support calculators. He has completed an initial "test" version which is being tested by child support enforcement personnel, referees and judges. Preliminary testing hasindicated a few corrections to be made. These will be made and the calculators made generallyavailable as soon as possible.
Kurt explained that ITD is moving forward with CJIS initiatives; budgets and plansfor the nextbiennium are under development.
Committee member terms
Committee membership terms for Becky Absey, Judge Medd, Penny Miller and JusticeSandstrom are expiring at the end of December, 2002.
The Chair indicated he will create letters of reappointment for the Chief's approval andsignature.
Committee membership terms expiring in December, 2003 include: Doug Johnson, JudgeLeclerc, Judge Schmalenberger, Ted Smith.
