Conference Call Minutes
June 19, 2003

Opening Business

The conference call convened at 10:00 a.m. Members present included: Hon. Mikal Simonson, Chair; Hon. M. Richard Geiger; Rita Hannesson; Hon. Gerald Rustad; Kurt Schmidt; Judy Slotto-Susie; Dion Ulrich; and Carla Kolling, Staff. Guest: Susan Sisk. (Members absent: Hon. Mary Muehlen Maring).
Chair Simonson welcomed the new members.

New Business

The members reviewed the minutes of the April 9, 2003, meeting and two corrections were made. The minutes were to reflect that the meeting was face to face and that the meeting commenced at 1:00 p.m.
Chair Simonson invited Finance Director, Susan Sisk, to present the proposed salary plan.

Ms. Sisk informed the members that no July 1 pay increases were appropriated by the legislature and that the current budget has sufficient monies to fund the step system.

Ms. Sisk informed members that there are 16 employees who are less than $100 below their target step and that they have not received an equity increase since June of 2001. She stated that she would recommend that the 16 employees be given an additional increase when they receive their step increase to move them up to their target step. She stated that there are sufficient funds available for these increases.

A motion was made by Judge Rustad, seconded by Rita Hannesson, to approve Ms. Sisk's recommendation and forward it to the Supreme Court for consideration. By roll call, the motion passed unanimously.

There being no further business the meeting adjourned.

The next meeting is scheduled for July 9, 2003, at 1:00 p.m., in Bismarck.
