RE: Criminal Rules Package.
The Committee has been working on the Criminal Rules Package since April 2003. Staff plans to present the completed Criminal Rules Package to the Supreme Court in July, at the same time that the Annual Rules Package is submitted. This will give the Court adequate time to seek comment on the proposed changes and to schedule hearings on the package before anticipated final consideration of the proposed amendments in January 2006.
The proposed amendments to the Rules of Criminal Procedure that the Committee has considered and approved prior to this meeting are attached so that the Committee can have an opportunity for a final review.
