Administrative Order 19 - RETURN OF SCANNED DOCUMENTS A. Document Scanning. Paper documents submitted to the district courts for filing will be scanned and an electronic copy of the document will be made part of the case file.
B. Document Return.
1. The clerk will retain an original paper will until probate proceedings and any appeals are complete. A decedent's personal representative seeking return of a will may submit a document return request form (Administrative Order 19 Addendum) after probate proceedings and any appeals are complete.
2. If a party seeks the return of a paper document other than a will, the party must submit a document return request form (Administrative Order 19 Addendum) with the document when it is delivered for filing. A party seeking the return of an exhibit submitted at trial must submit a document return request form (Administrative Order 19 Addendum) at the conclusion of the trial.
3. Paper documents submitted to the clerk for scanning and electronic filing that are not subject to return under Order 19 (B)(1) or (2) will be destroyed within five days of filing with the court.
