Darold Adrian Asbridge, 61, Bismarck, died May 5, 2012, at Medcenter One surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, May 9, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Rev. Craig Schweitzer officiating.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
Darold was born December 2, 1950 at Bismarck, the son of Donald G. and (former N.D. State Treasurer) Bernice M. (Wenaas) Asbridge. He graduated from Bismarck High, 1968; University of North Dakota 1972 (undergraduate in Public Administration); UND Law School, 1975 (Juris Doctorate).
Darold, loved the family lake home at Lake Tschida, trapshooting, hunting with his loyal dog and cooking for his many friends.
Darold was a past-president of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity (Delta-Mu Chapter); State Board of Governors, N.D. Trial Lawyers Association; member of the North Dakota Trial Lawyers Association for many years; Member of the Bismarck Elks Lodge (since 1971); member of the N.D. State Bar Association (since 1976); Past President of the N.D. Trapshooting Association; member of the N.D. State Trapshooting Association since 1986; longtime Board member of the N.D. State Trapshooting Association; former Board of Director of the N.D. Roughrider Trapshooting Association, as well as a member since 1983. Past President of the Capital City Gun Club and a long-time Board member.
Darold always enjoyed his hunting and shooting life, as well as his family. He was generally recognized as a competent Trial lawyer, and frequently spoke on his areas of expertise, so as to share with others.
Darold is survived by his sister, Donna (Joe LaFave), Bismarck; niece, Dawnice LaFave, Sparta NJ; nephew, George LaFave, Bismarck, ND; great-nieces, Skyler and Aubrey LaFave; and his special friend, Thomas Sylskar; as well as many cousins and other family members that he held close to his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Capital City Gun Club Youth Program. Darold had hundreds of kids go through the Youth Program at the Capital City Gun Club, Youth Program, and treated them as if they were his own.
