Family Law Basics, a free eight-hour Continuing Legal Education course, has been scheduled at the Burleigh County Courthouse with two-hour sessions at 4 p.m. on Tuesdays April 30, May 7, May 14, and May 21, 3013. The course is sponsored by the judges and referees of the South Central Judicial District, the State Bar Association of North Dakota, and the Big Muddy Bar Association. Attorneys have volunteered to assist in presenting the course.
The course is open to attorneys and legal assistants, but space is limited and registration is required. Participants will be asked to accept a pro bono family law case in the year following the program, and legal assistants who participate will be asked to assist with a pro bono case.
