The North Dakota Court System has announced that a new interactive voice and web payment system has been successfully implemented in Cass County.
According to Sally Holewa, the State Court Administrator, the new system enhances current payment options. "People can currently pay by credit card over the counter or by contacting the clerk of court office by telephone. These options are not going away. We've just added two more option to the list. Holewa explained. "The benefit of using the interactive voice or web payment system is 24-hour access to information about a citation and the ability to pay it at the same time."
Telephone payments can be made by accessing the interactive voice response system at phone number: 1-877-818-0752.
Website payments can be made by accessing the Court System website at http://publicsearch.ndcourts.gov/default.aspx. A "Make Payment" button will display on any traffic case record where web or phone payments are an option. Holewa expects the functionality to allow web payments for all case types will be in place by late summer.
The new system is being tested as part of the Odyssey Case Management System pilot project. If it is successful, it will be made available in other counties as they move from their current case management system to the Odyssey system.
The Court System has purchased the Odyssey Case Management System from Tyler Technologies to replace an aging, statewide court case management system. To date, Odyssey has been deployed to Cass County and Traill County. It is currently scheduled to be deployed to Steele, Griggs, Eddy, Wells, Foster, Stutsman, Barnes, LaMoure, Ransom, Richland, Dickey and Sargent counties in April. The Court System anticipates that the Odyssey Case Management System will be deployed in all 53 counties by June, 2011.
