The United States District Court for the District of North Dakota will raise attorney admission fees on April 1. The one-time fee for admission to the federal bar will increase to $200. There is no annual renewal fee. Pro hac vice fees will increase to $100 per case.
Admission fees for the District have not increased in more than two decades. The Court is increasing the fee in order to fund reimbursement of expenses for indigent civil litigants.
Costs and compensation at a reduced rate for pro bono attorneys will also be eligible for reimbursement from the fund. Please contact the Clerk of Court (701-530-2300) with any questions.
