The North Dakota Association of Drug Court professionals received a $2,000 donation from the Hawthorne Neighborhood Association in Fargo, North Dakota.
Each year the historic Hawthorne Neighborhood hosts a home tour and sells tickets for people to tour historic homes in part of Fargo's original townsite. The proceeds of the home tour are donated to a local non-profit and this year they selected the North Dakota Drug Court Association as the recipient after learning about the great work of the Fargo Juvenile Drug Court.
Funds will be used to provide for drug court program incentives which motivate and support behavior change in youth struggling with addiction.
The Hawthorne Neighborhood Association also releases a quarterly newsletter to the approximately 800 residents of this historic neighborhood and thriving business community and have included an informational article about the work of the North Dakota Juvenile Drug Courts.
Kim Hegvik of the Cass County State's Attorney's Office and Nicole Burkhartsmeier, Fargo Juvenile Court, accepted the donation check from Polly Wendebo, Claudia Davenport and Deb Fredrikson of the Hawthorne Neighborhood Association.
