Burleigh County Assistant State's Attorney-Child Support
The Burleigh County Human Resource department will be accepting applications and resumes from June 16 through June 30, 2006, for the position of Assistant Attorney in the Burleigh County Regional Child Support Enforcement Unit. Recruitment: Internal/External. Will consider applications from candidates interested in part-time or full-time position.
Salary Grade: 11
Starting Pay Range: $3451-$3762 per month full time
Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, licensed to practice law in the state of North Dakota and/or application for the admission to practice law. Preference given to candidates with experience in family law or financial background.
Requires a valid driver's license.
Applicant will be subject to a standard post-offer background and criminal records check.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the establishment of paternity, medical, and child support orders for a 10-county region.
Responsible for the enforcement of child support and medical support orders to include but not be limited to contempt proceedings, legal research, review and modification, and case analysis.
Prepare legal documents, pleadings, motions, briefs, and orders; appear in court as required.
Prepare financial computations and calculations to determine child support obligations.
Essential Job Functions:
Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
Efficiently operate a computer; knowledge of Microsoft Word and FACSES preferred.
Thorough knowledge of purpose and content of documents required and used within the court system.
