Minimum Qualifications:

Requires Juris Doctorate degree and a licensure to practice law in North Dakota and two (2) years of work experience as an attorney. This position will be designated as a Cass County Assistant States Attorney. Preference will be given to those applicants with demonstrated knowledge or experience with child welfare programs.

    Summary of Work:

    Under the supervision of the Cass County State's Attorney, this individual will provide legal advice and representation to the Director of Cass county Social Services and his designees primarily in the area of child protection. This will include advising the Director and his designees as to legal duties; drafting legal documents; preparing legal opinions, pleadings, motions, briefs, and orders; and engaging in litigation on behalf of the County Agency in the area of child protection. Establishing and maintaining working relationships with judiciary, Court employees, other attorneys, County Officials and employees, law enforcement officers, and other professionals in the community.
