Hiring Range: $5,687 to $6,635 per month

Summary of Work

Principal duties include: act as lead attorney for the legal unit of the Devils Lake Regional Child Support Unit including supervision of legal support staff and the other attorney; litigate the establishment of paternity, child support obligations, and health insurance obligations; enforce child support and medical support obligations; review and modify court orders; assist staff in legal matters; draft legal documents and perform legal research; provide input when formulating policy and procedures; participate as a member of the management team for the regional office; and public relations. Duties will include work in tribal court. Duties may also involve appellate work.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a Juris Doctorate degree, a current license to practice law in North Dakota or ability to obtain such a license, two years of work experience as an attorney, and a valid driver's license.

Preference will be given to applicants with family law experience and/or Title IV-D experience.
