$28.00 per hour; 25 hours per week. This position is not eligible for state benefits paid for by the North Dakota Court System. Temporary employees who work at least 20 hours per week and at least 20 weeks each year are eligible to participate in the retirement and life insurance programs at the employee’s expense.

Requires a bachelor’s degree, preferably with major course work in public administration, statistics or social sciences. Preference is given for a background in research, development, evaluation or revision of programs.

Summary of Work:
This position is placed within the Court Improvement Project (CIP) of the State Court Administrative Office to coordinate activities of the Dual Status Youth Initiative (DSYI). The incumbent assists in activities and programs related to the DSYI matters including best practice research, program evaluation, performance assessments, prepare reports for public dissemination, and provide other technical assistance to the courts.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
1. Assists the CIP Coordinator to develop DSYI program goals and improvements. Monitors and reviews DSYI program activities. Prepares, reviews and maintains statistical and other DSYI program information. Generates reports and prepares written conclusions and recommendations. Assists the CIP Coordinator with the evaluation of the DSYI.
2. Staffs DSYI Executive Committee and works with court and child welfare system as well as external committees to implement and monitor the activities of the DSYI.
3. Researches, analyzes and interprets statewide data.
4. Drafts reports for publications.
5. Communicates clearly and effectively with judges, court administrators, staff and senior positions in various state, federal and local agencies.
6. Applies social science analytics, data management principles, simple programming and statistical methods to design, process and manage a variety of datasets to determine effectiveness of DSYI.
7. Performs other duties of a comparable level or type.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
1. Knowledge of current statistical methods.
2. Knowledge of juvenile deprivation issues and court processes is preferred.
3. Skilled in analyzing, designing and extracting data.
4. Skilled in use of Word, Excel, Outlook and other similar software.
5. Skilled in researching and evaluating new and upcoming technologies that may benefit the judiciary.
6. Skilled in providing technical assistance to judicial system personnel and committees.
7. Ability to derive, analyze and interpret court data.
8. Ability to draft reports for publications.
9. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with officials and staff.
