The City of Grand Forks is accepting applications from qualified, licensed North Dakota attorneys to act as an alternate municipal judge for the City of Grand Forks. Each submittal must, at a minimum, contain the following:
Qualifications of applicant:
Prior experience as judge referee, administrative law judge, arbitrator or similar. Biography of professional experience.
A statement as to whether the applicant has ever been the subject of any disciplinary proceedings.
A statement as to whether the applicant has ever been charged with any municipal code violations, misdemeanors or felony offenses.
A list of three professional references and three personal references.
A statement discussing the applicant's interest in serving as an alternate municipal judge.
A listing of any potential conflicts of interest.
Submittals will be reviewed based upon the following criteria:
Knowledge and experience of the applicant. Any disciplinary proceedings against the applicant, including the basis for the results of any such proceedings. Any misdemeanor or felony prosecutions against the applicant, including the basis for the results of such prosecutions. Recommendations from references. The absence of any potential conflicts of interest. Any other factors that make the selection particularly appropriate or inappropriate.
