Legal Assistant (Part Time)
Stark County State's Attorney's Office, Dickinson, ND

The Stark County Human Resources Department will be accepting applications from April 10th through 5:00 PM, April 23, 2018 for the position of Legal Assistant available in the State's Attorney's Office.

Number of Openings: One (1)
Position: Part Time - approximately 24 hours per week
Starting Salary: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
Type of Recruitment: Internal/External

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate of Applied Science Degree - Legal Concentration or three years of legal assistant experience.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares correspondence, court documents, notices, forms, briefs, etc. from rough drafts, oral instruction or other means.
  • Maintains complex filing systems.
  • Prepares correspondence and documents; files with appropriate agency.
  • Works with the court system, attorneys and law enforcement personnel; contacts various agencies to obtain and verify information.
  • Manages appointment calendars; answers and screens calls and directs inquiries to appropriate staff.
  • Sorts, opens and distributes mail and other items; files correspondence and case files; updates manuals or publications.
  • Prepares and files Supreme Court briefs.
  • Provides staff support to other legal staff.
  • Orders and maintains office supplies.
  • Performs related work as required.
