"All of these people here today - the Chief Justice and other members of the North Dakota Supreme Court, Rep. Ron Carlisle, the State's Attorney, defense attorney, and your parents - are all here today because they care about you and want you to succeed," Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem told the participants in the Burleigh County Juvenile Drug Court.
Stenehjem's remarks were part of the drug court's 3rd anniversary celebration held on October 27, 2005. Prior to the celebration, District Court Judge Bruce Romanick held a regular drug court session. During the session, Romanick praised some of the 9 participants, scolded others, and encouraged all to continue toward a drug- and alcohol-free lifestyle. Romanick acknowledged the agencies that have worked with the drug court and thanked them for their support.
"A lot of people are putting resources and time into the drug courts in North Dakota," Stenehjem told the participants. "You have the opportunity to make those sacrifices worthwhile. We are all proud of what you have been able to accomplish."
