Teachers who are planning to stage a mock trial with their students will have an opportunity to learn trial basics from a judge who has assisted in classrooms.
Judge Cynthia Feland will present a session for teachers planning mock trials on Tuesday, August 14, from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. at the Burleigh County Courthouse. The session will provide information about the roles of participants in a trial and explain the steps and procedures from pre-trial preparation through reception of a verdict.
Feland said she became interested in preparing and presenting the material when she was called on to assist with mock trials for her daughter's classes.
