The Governor, Chief Justice, and President of the State Bar Association make temporary appointments to the Judicial Nominating Committee when district judges are to be appointed.
For consideration of nominees to fill the current vacancies, Governor Jack Dalrymple has appointed David Hogue as his temporary member for the North Central judgeship, Linda Butts for the South Central judgeship and Timothy Van Hal for the Southeast judgeship.
SBAND President Nancy Morris' temporary appointment for the North Central Judicial District is Jason Vendse, for the South Central Judicial District is Suzanne Schweigert, and for the Southeast Judicial District is Jean Delaney.
Chief Justice Gerald VandeWalle's temporary appointment for the SCJD vacancy is Sandi Tabor, his appointment for the NCJD vacancy is R. James Maxson, and his appointment for the SEJD vacancy is Steve Lies.
The Committee's permanent members are: District Judge William W. McLees and Susan Sisk (appointed by the Chief Justice); Duane Houdek and Dale Mowry (appointed by the Governor); and Kari Ness and Monte Rogneby (appointed by the SBAND president).
