I was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and grew up in North Dakota, Montana and Minnesota. I am the youngest of six children. My mother and two of my sisters reside in Grand Forks. I graduated from East Grand Forks Senior High School where I was captain of the wrestling team. My interests include running marathons, bicycling, and spending time with my wife and our dogs.

Presiding Judge: Implemented a five-week judge rotation improving court efficiency, reducing litigation costs and reducing the workload of the Clerk of Court's Office. Established district-wide advisory committee to exchange information with the practicing bar. Oversaw transition from seven judicial officers to five judicial officers following the elimination of two referee positions. During my tenure, docket currency has significantly improved and is now at or near the top in the North Dakota judicial system.
