PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
My experience includes my present work as Cass County Assistant State's Attorney where I have prosecuted crimes in District Court, Juvenile Court, and Juvenile Drug Court. My current assignment is prosecuting controlled substance cases, nearly half of which are felonies. I have prosecuted numerous jury trials from misdemeanors to complex felony conspiracy cases with multiple defendants.
Broadening that background, I have represented clients on civil and criminal tax issues, clerked for Justice William A. Neumann at the North Dakota Supreme Court where I worked on more than 25 majority and dissenting opinions, and learned the workings of court procedure as Administrative Assistant to Presiding Judge James H. O'Keefe. The following highlights my professional affiliations:
HONORS, AWARDS, COMMUNITY SERVICE, PUBLIC SERVICE:
The Fargo Police Dept. invited me to teach at the local site of the Lake Region State College Police Training Program where the cadets highly rated my knowledge and teaching skills.
I am honored to serve as Moderator of the Board of Deacons of First Presbyterian Church in Fargo, and work as a volunteer coach with the Christian Sports Commission Boys Basketball League.
Other involvements include the St. Andrews Brass; Chapter Y, P.E.O.; YWCA; and volunteering at the FM Community Theatre. While in Law School, I was named to the Order of Barristers, the North Dakota Law Review, Associate Editor, (published), and won the Carrigan Cup Oral Advocacy Competition.
