In the Matter of the Chambering of a New Judgeship in the Southeast Judicial District

The 61st Legislative Assembly passed Senate Bill 2121, which has been signed by the Governor, and will become effective July 1, 2009. This legislation provides for an additional district court judge in the Southeast Judicial District, with the chambers to be assigned by the Supreme Court. The Court considered the matter, and

ORDERED, the Supreme Court will use the procedure in Administrative Rule 7.1. to assign the resident chamber for the new judgeship. Any person wishing to comment on the matter may do so in writing no later than July 1, 2009. It is expected the Supreme Court will receive a report discussing the factors under N.D. Sup. Ct. Admin. R. 7.1, Section 4, for each of the counties in the Southeast Judicial District from the Trial Court Administrator for Unit 2.
