Rule 8.5 - Domestic Relations Summary Proceedings

(h) Term. The implementation of Tthis proceeding shall be implemented is extended on a trial basis until October 1, 1999 to October 1, 2001. Upon consultation with the presiding judge from the Northeast Central Judicial District and the presiding judge from at least one other judicial district, the Supreme Court shall designate the judges who will use the proceeding during the trial period. After During the trial period of extension, the Court will consider decide if statewide implementation of the proceeding process is feasible and warranted.
EXPLANATORY NOTE
Rule 8.5 was adopted, effective October 1, 1996; and amended March 26, 1998, to remain in effect until October 1, 1999. On September 29, 1999, the Supreme Court amended the rule to extend the implementation period to October 1, 2001, and to consider statewide implementation of the proceeding.
