The Burleigh County Human Resource Department will be accepting applications from December 21, 2017 through January 11, 2018 for the position of File Clerk available in the State’s Attorney’s office. Salary Grade: 1 Number of Openings: 1 (one)
Starting Salary: $13.44 - $14.98 per hour Type of Recruitment: Internal/External
High School diploma or general education degree (GED): and six months to one year related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, change approach or method to deal with changes, delays or unexpected events.
Should have knowledge of word processing software; Word Perfect or Microsoft Word preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Refile files and maintain the file system.
Pull files for appropriate hearings and distribute those files to the appropriate attorneys.
Make copies of daily and weekly criminal calendars and distribute them to the staff.
Collect outgoing mail and distribute that mail to the appropriate entities and to the mailroom. Pick up the new mail, date stamp all pieces of mail, find State’s Attorneys file number for each piece of mail, locate the appropriate file and distribute those files to the appropriate staff persons.
Dispose and shred obsolete files in accordance with established retirement schedule or legal requirements.
Provide back up support for the Legal Secretaries including answering the phone, assist the general public and attorneys that come into the office, enter in new police reports and assign them to the appropriate attorneys.
Assisting and entering information on fingerprint cards.
Perform other duties as required and assigned.
