July 2021 bar examination results released

The State Board of Law Examiners have announced the results of the July 2021 bar examination. Of the 65 applicants who sat for the bar examination in Bismarck, 42 applicants achieved a passing score.

Sioux County courthouse closed to public

The Sioux County courthouse has been closed to the public due to a rise in active COVID-19 cases. Staff remains available to handle business by telephone and email.

Absey, Moen honored for distinguished service to court system

Grand Forks County Clerk of Court Rebecca Absey and Calendar Control Clerk Lisa Moen have both received 40 year service awards. They started work with the court system in September of 1981.

N.D. Attorney General opinion: Sept. 3

Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem has issued an opinion that a public entity has an obligation to provide requested records within a reasonable time and to communicate to the requester the reason for any delay in responding.

U.S. District Court issues order in Rodriguez case

On Sept. 3, U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Ralph Erickson ordered that a new sentencing phase be conducted in the case of United States v. Alfonso Rodriguez Jr.
