Elected, 1980 and 1986. Retired as District Judge, 1992. Appointed Surrogate Judge, 1992. President, N.D. State Bar Association, 1979-80. President, Western States Bar Conference, 1983. Member, Board of Governors, National Conference of State Trial Judges (ABA), 1983-89. Editor, State Trial Judges Newletter, 1988-93. Member, Board of Editors, The Judges Journal, 1988-93. Member, Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity. Married to Sylvia Ann; two children, John and Ann. Judge Kerian died June 28, 2008.
