Judge Sjue was appointed as a District Court Judge by Governor Jack Dalrymple in 2015 for Judgeship No. 6 of the Northwest Judicial District, located in Williston, North Dakota. She was subsequently elected to the position in 2018.

Born in 1981, Judge Sjue graduated from Williston High School in 1999. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of North Dakota in 2003 and her Juris Doctor from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 2006. She was admitted to the North Dakota State Bar on September 25, 2006.

Judge Sjue began her legal career as a law clerk at the North Dakota Supreme Court from 2006 to 2007. She then served as a law clerk to U.S. District Judge Ralph Erickson from 2007 to 2009. From 2009 to 2013, she practiced law privately in Williston, North Dakota. She went on to serve as an Assistant State’s Attorney for Williams County from 2013 until her appointment to the bench in 2015.
