Attorney / State Agency New Users

***Attorneys – As of March 1st, 2018, counsels are required to use the Attorney Subscription Management System for notice of filing by the court in the Odyssey system per North Dakota Rules of Court Rule 3.5.***

***State Agency - Supervisors of employees with pre-approved State and Local government departments and agencies can get access to Secure Public Access. Example of some organizations that qualify to receive an account include; North Dakota Attorney General, Regional Child Support Units, Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Sheriff and Police Departments, North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigations, North Dakota Public Defender, and North Dakota State’s Attorney.***

Registration

Secure Public Access and Subscription Manager

  • Individuals licensed in North Dakota as an attorney with a valid North Dakota BAR ID number (Pro Hac Vice/Temporary License Holders numbers do not qualify) will gain access to both Secure Public Access and Subscription Manager using the login that is provided to you.
  • State Agency users will gain access to Secure Public Access with the login that is provided to you.

Note: If you are not an attorney or are not filing on behalf of an attorney, please register your account as a Self-Representative Account. If you are an out of state attorney please check with your local court to see if you need to register as a Self-Representative Account.

Court Applications

Odyssey File & Serve

  • E-filing allows the user to file to the North Dakota Courts electronically.
  • Self-represented litigants and prisoners are exempt from the electronic filing requirement and may file paper documents in person, by mail, or by third party commercial carrier. Self-represented litigants and prisoners who wish to file documents by electronic means must use the Odyssey system.

Secure Public Access

  • Allows users to have access to view court records on Odyssey cases for those that meet the criteria.
  • An application process is required to gain access to case information within Odyssey.  

The applicant requesting access must submit the application.  Only one application per individual, as each applicant will have a unique login.

Attorney Subscription Management System

  • Allows the attorney to receive notifications when clerks create an event on the case the attorney is active.
  • Note: Notifications are sent out 5 minutes after the hour, every hour when an event is created on the case where the attorney is on.
