Scott O. Diamond

Judge Scott Diamond was appointed as a District Court Judge for the East Central Judicial District by Governor Kelly Armstrong in 2026. He serves in Judgeship No. 6 and is chambered in Fargo, North Dakota.

Judge Diamond earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Dakota in 1998 and received his Juris Doctor, with distinction, from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 2001. He was admitted to the North Dakota Bar on October 1, 2001.

Prior to his appointment to the district court bench, Judge Diamond served as a Judicial Referee for the East Central Judicial District from 2023 to 2026. Before that, he served as the Alternate Municipal Court Judge for the Cities of Fargo and West Fargo from 2013 to 2023.

From 2013 to 2023, Judge Diamond operated Diamond Law Firm in Fargo, where he maintained a private law practice. Earlier in his career, he served as a City Prosecutor for the City of Fargo from 2008 to 2013 and practiced law in both North Dakota and Rhode Island.
