Case No. 2017-MH-00069
Southeast Judicial District, Stutsman County

Parties' Statement of Issues
Whether the District Court erred in finding F.G. to be mentally ill and a person requiring treatment.
F.M.G. appeals from the district court’s order following a continuing treatment hearing, requiring her to undergo treatment at the North Dakota State Hospital for a period not to exceed one year.
In February 2020, a petition for continuing treatment was filed in the district court requesting continued hospitalization for F.M.G. due to her ongoing psychosis and refusal to consider a less restrictive setting. The petition states that prior to February 2020, F.M.G. was admitted to the North Dakota State Hospital due to severe mania and psychosis. Following a hearing, the court issued an order, finding there is clear and convincing evidence F.M.G. is mentally ill and continues to require treatment. The court ordered F.M.G. to undergo treatment at the State Hospital for a period not to exceed one year.
On appeal, F.M.G. argues there is not clear and convincing evidence she is mentally ill and a person requiring treatment.
