Assistant State’s Attorney I
The Stark County Human Resource Department will be accepting applications for the position of full time Assistant State’s Attorney I with the Stark County State’s Attorney Office. Applications will be reviewed on a weekly basis until the position is filled.
Number of Openings: One (1)
Starting Salary: Salary range DOE
Type of Recruitment: External
Reports to: State’s Attorney
Minimum Qualifications:
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in the State of North Dakota, with experience in juvenile law and/or criminal litigation preferred.
Must have reasonable interpersonal communication skills and be able to have a good working relationship with professional staff, law enforcement agencies, court staff and the general public.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing evidence, conducting civil and criminal lawsuits, and presenting information in court to prosecute or defend actions.
- Responsible for advising law enforcement officers, preparing and presenting warrants and holding probable cause hearings.
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents and opinions.
- Advise elected and appointed officials and county employees as to their legal rights, and represent agencies in court.
- Other duties as assigned by the State’s Attorney.
