Job Announcement - Assistant State’s Attorney Tuesday, January 4, 2022

The Stark County Human Resource Department will be accepting applications beginning January 4, 2022 to January 31, 2022 for the position of full time Assistant State’s Attorney with the Stark County State’s Attorney Office. Starting Salary: Salary range DOE

Full-time/Exempt

Minimum Qualifications: Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in the State of North Dakota or ability to become licensed upon employment. Experience in juvenile law and/or criminal litigation preferred.

Must have reasonable interpersonal communication skills and be able to have a good working relationship with professional staff, law enforcement agencies, court staff and the general public.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
--Responsible for managing evidence, conducting civil and criminal lawsuits, and presenting information in court to prosecuteor defend actions.

--Responsible for advising law enforcement officers, preparing and presenting warrants and holding probable cause hearings.

--Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents and opinions.

--Advise elected and appointed officials and county employees as to their legal rights, and represent agencies in court.

--Other duties as assigned by the State’s Attorney.
