Job Title:  Case Aide
Department: Juvenile Court
Location: Williston, North Dakota
Salary & Benefits: $13.00 per hour; 10-20 hours per month.  This position is not eligible for state benefits paid for by the North Dakota Court System.  Temporary employees who work at least 20 hours per week and at least 20 weeks each year are eligible to participate in the retirement and life insurance programs at the employee’s expense.

This position works 10-20 hours per month mainly on evenings and weekends.  Hours are flexible.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Requires a high school diploma and valid driver’s license or evidence of equivalent mobility.

Summary of Work:
This position works with youth in the juvenile justice system and the Juvenile Drug Court Program and is responsible for assisting with drug testing, curfew checks, electronic monitoring and may include mentoring of participants in the Juvenile Drug Court Program.
Essential Functions:
1.  Schedules and meets with the Juvenile Drug Court participants, their families and the juvenile court officer for an intake in order to review the rules and the roles.
2.  Conducts and observes alcohol sensor and urinalysis tests on a random basis.
3.  Conducts curfew checks by phone or in person when requested by the juvenile court officer or the drug court coordinator.
4.  Assists with electronic monitoring and all other monitoring devises.
5.  May be required to supervise participants in group outings and special projects.
6.  Completes required paperwork.
7.  Reports any neglect or abuse as a mandated reporter.
8.  Performs other duties of a comparable level or type.

Physical Requirements:
1.  The essential functions of the job typically require:  sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, feeling, reaching, and fingering requirements or other reasonable methods that accommodate an individual in completing the essential functions of the job.
2.  Employee may be subject to some limited travel in the performance of the job.  Employee normally has control over travel schedule and can often adjust schedules due to adverse weather or travel conditions.
3.  Employee is exposed to biological hazard in the performance of drug testing.
