Job Announcement: Legal Assistant
Stark County is now accepting applications for the position of Legal Assistant with the Stark County State’s Attorney Office. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with an excellent benefit package to include health, dental, vision, and basic life insurance; NDPERS retirement plan contribution of 15.26% of your salary; and a work/life balance provided with 11 paid holidays, Vacation Leave and Sick Leave.
Location: Dickinson, ND
Starting Salary: $24/Hour and up DOE
Full-time/Non-exempt

Minimum Qualifications:
Three years’ experience performing legal office support; Associates degree with emphasis in the legal field preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares correspondence, court documents, notices, forms, briefs, etc. from rough drafts, oral instruction or other means.
- Legal research as assigned
- Maintains complex filing systems.
- Prepares correspondence and documents; files with appropriate agency.
- Works with the court system, attorneys and law enforcement personnel; contacts various agencies to obtain and verify information.
- Manages appointment calendars; answer and screen calls and directs inquiries to appropriate staff.
- Sorts, opens and distributes mail and other items; files correspondence and case files; updates manuals or publications.
- Prepares and files Supreme Court briefs.
- Provides staff support to other legal staff.
- Orders and maintains office supplies.
- Performs related work as required.
