Summary of Work

The Paralegal's primary purpose is to provide support to the attorneys, BCI Agents, Nurse Investigator, and Auditor employed by the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU). The Paralegal will assist the MFCU in the following ways:
1. Preparing legal documents, pleadings, briefs, motions, responses, and correspondence;
2. Analyzing cases and MFCU related issues, research relevant laws, regulations, and judicial decisions;
3. Managing and organizing cases, which includes document management, storage, retention, and discovery productions and requests;
4. Interview witnesses, prepare exhibits, and prepare cases and witnesses for trials, hearings, and depositions;
5. Communicating, both in writing and verbally, with attorneys, witnesses, law enforcement partners, state and local government partners, legislators, and public;
6. Will assist with inquiries, complaints, referrals, mediation and resolutions;
7. Other duties as assigned.
