ND DOCR receives grant for drug court Wednesday, October 16, 2019

The North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCR) received a $486,253 grant through the U.S. Department of Justice Bureau of Justice Assistance.

This is a three-year grant that will increase drug court services statewide by enhancing programming to drug court participants. The funding will help provide evaluations of ND DOCR programs and drug court training to team members.

The award will enable drug court participants to attend "Thinking for a Change," an integrated cognitive behavioral change program. Drug court team members will be able to attend trainings presented by the National Association of Drug Court Professionals.

Evaluations will include both a Correctional Program Checklist and an outcome evaluation. These will be used to evaluate drug courts and referral agencies. The ND DOCR will be partnering with North Dakota State University for the evaluations.
