Western Dakota Association of Legal Assistants celebrates 35th Anniversary Thursday, October 10, 2019

The Western Dakota Association of Legal Assistants (WDALA) recently celebrated its 35th Anniversary with a social and program at the Heritage Center in Bismarck.

WDALA presented its Legacy Award to Penny Miller, Clerk of the North Dakota Supreme Court; Judith Howard, Minot attorney;  Lori Hauge, RPR, CRR, court reporter; and Vicki Kunz, ACP, founding member of WDALA.  The Legacy Award is presented to those who have shown commitment to advancing the paralegal profession with dedication and distinction.

WDALA provides educational programs for paralegals and encourages professional development through membership in WDALA.  The 35th Anniversary was held in conjunction with its annual conference featuring speakers on Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events, Filial Support, Overview of the Bismarck Police Department, The Attorney Did What? Bad Ideas in Law Practice, and Technology Empowered ADR and Jury Research.  NALA President Jill Francisco, ACP, also spoke about the benefits of association membership.
